Exploring Your Pregnancy Options

An unexpected pregnancy can provoke many emotions. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or even excited, what matters most is having an opportunity to understand what each path forward could look like for you.

At Women’s Resource Center, we believe every woman deserves to make informed choices without pressure. That’s why we provide a welcoming place to learn about your options—abortion, adoption, and parenting—so you can learn about each one without pressure or strings attached.

Why Being Informed Matters

Without access to clear, accurate information, feeling confident during the decision-making process can be challenging. Fully understanding each option, including what it involves and what it means for your future, will better equip you to decide.

Understanding Abortion Procedures and Risks

Abortion is a serious decision with side effects and risks. There are two main types of abortion procedures: medical and surgical.

Medical abortion, sometimes referred to as the abortion pill, involves a series of drugs approved only through the first 10 weeks of pregnancy. Surgical abortion, usually done in an abortion facility or hospital, varies depending on how far along the pregnancy is.

In addition to weighing the potential physical risks, it’s crucial to consider the possible emotional effects. At Women’s Resource Center, we don’t perform or refer for abortions, but we do provide accurate information so you can understand the full implications of this choice.

Considering Adoption as a Possibility

Some people overlook adoption because they assume it means giving up control, but modern adoption looks very different today. If you choose adoption, you can select the adoptive family, create a personalized plan, and decide the level of future contact you want to have.

You have choices whether you’re drawn to open, semi-open, or closed adoption. We’ll help you understand what adoption can look like in your life and connect you with professionals who can walk alongside you.

Exploring the Option of Parenting

Parenting can feel intimidating, especially when life circumstances are already complex. Questions about finances, living arrangements, and support systems are all valid, and we’ll help you answer them without judgment. You don’t need to have everything figured out to be a good parent.

With parenting classes, material support, and one-on-one mentoring, the Women’s Resource Center offers resources to help you prepare if this is your chosen path.

Next Steps: How to Find Support

You may not have expected to be in this position, but you are not without help. Our role is not to make the decision for you, but to equip you with everything you need to make one. If you want a safe space to process or tangible support for parenting or adoption, we’re here.

Right now, the most important thing you can do is take a breath and talk with someone who will listen. Schedule a no-cost, confidential appointment at the Women’s Resource Center. We’ll provide information tailored to your situation and walk you through your options.

The Women’s Resource Center does not provide or refer for abortions.
